"Putting on my dress the day of was a feeling I never felt."

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?
A moment from my wedding day that was my favorite was when those church doors opened and I saw my husband’s face. It is my favorite memory of our day and the moment I had been waiting for. At that exact moment, seeing him, I knew I was with exactly who I was meant to be with. It’s a moment that is so hard to explain in words, but I’m sure every bride knows the feeling I’m talking about. It was perfect.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
My biggest piece of advice to all future brides is to be PRESENT. On the day of your wedding, there’s always a possibility of something not going exactly as planned and that is OKAY. The most important part of your day is marrying your partner and everything else will just fall into place. Do your best to take in every single moment and memory of the day, because it truly is over in the blink of an eye.

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?
My fiance and I are both from big Italian families. So, we wanted to bring our culture into our special day without being too overwhelmed with it. So, we hired an espresso martini machine vendor (which is also both of our favorite cocktails) and they served it with biscotti to tie in with our Italian-American heritage.
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?
Putting on my dress the day of was a feeling I never felt. I always felt beautiful whenever I had a fitting. However, on the day of my wedding, I never felt more beautiful than I did at that very moment. I didn’t show anyone my dress besides my mother, who was with me when I first found my dress. So, it was a surprise for all of my bridesmaids, my mother-in-law, and everyone else. I truly do not think there was a dry eye in the room when I revealed my dress to them. It was such a special moment for us all.
"My biggest piece of advice to all future brides is to be PRESENT."

Would you have done anything differently?
Absolutely nothing. My day was exactly how I envisioned it and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
What was your favorite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
My favorite part was definitely dress shopping. It’s an experience as a girl, we always dream of and I can truly say it was everything I ever dreamed of.
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
It was an invisible string moment for sure. His godparents lived next door to me when we were about two years old. Of course we don’t remember each other, but our parents became friendly and then they moved to a different neighborhood and we never saw each other again. Until 22 years later, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we matched on a dating app and realized we knew each other from way back in the day! It was definitely a full circle moment and I do believe it was fate that brought us back into each other's lives.
