#GLBride Hannah Looking Stunning in Lima Gown
"I felt like a princess! My friends and family kept saying that my dress was the prettiest dress they have ever seen."
A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?
I can’t pick just one moment. From the time I woke up to getting ready with all my bridesmaids, to putting on my incredible dress, the first look with my husband, walking down the aisle. I can’t pick just one thing, it was all amazing.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
It all happens so fast. Don’t let the stresses of your wedding day get to you. Try to be calm during the day and enjoy every minute of it. Everyone says things change after marriage, and I wasn’t sure what this meant. Don’t let that scare you, when you marry the right person if anything changes, it’s for the better.
A detail that made your wedding special/unique?
Both my father and stepfather walked my down the aisle. My parents divorced when I was young. I met my stepdad when I was 4 years old. My mother and biological father felt it was important to raise me with loving both parents regardless of the circumstance. Today, my mother, stepfather and father, are friends. We all celebrate holidays together and have a special relationship. I wanted both of my fathers to walk me down the aisle and give me away to my husband.
How did you know your dress was 'the one'?
I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for, and this one was nothing like my ‘inspo’ pictures, but when I tried this one on, I knew it was the one. Everyone got emotional, and I felt like it was sexy but also classy.
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?
I felt like a princess! My friends and family kept saying that my dress was the prettiest dress they have ever seen.
Would you have done anything differently?
Absolutely nothing. My wedding was the most perfect day that I could have imagined.
What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
Having everyone that I love in one area at one of our favorite places. We felt so loved!
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
My husband and I were both born and raised in Sarasota, Florida, and started hanging out during COVID. We officially started dating on a trip we took to Aspen. He proposed on Christmas Day, and pretended he had another present for me, which was my engagement ring. As I unwrapped it and he got down on his knee and I was totally surprised.
"The team at Galia Lahav could not have been more helpful."
How many dresses did you try on before you found it?
I probably tried on 50 dresses. I went to 2 stores before going to Galia Lahav, and when I walked into Galia Lahav it was like a real-life fairy tale. Every dress was gorgeous, and the team helped me find the perfect one.
