"As soon as I saw the G-104 gown on the hanger my heart sang – it was perfect."

Jess

As a born and bread scouser I moved to Cheltenham after university. Having lived here for a couple of years I started to become a regular at attending Cheltenham races. One November race meet, I was enjoying a drink with my girls when I went to the bar to get the next round in, Nick approached me at the bar. In his words he said he really considered how to approach me as he’d remember reading somewhere it is intimidating to be approached from behind, so he shimmied his way through the racing punters to be able to come at me from the side. Asking me if I’d had any winners that day. I fondly remember thinking how gorgeous, smiley and interested he seemed asking not only me but all my friends lots of questions. He had me from the get go.

We planned our wedding in Santorini, at La Maltese Estate. We travelled out a year prior to the wedding to view venues and La Maltese just took our breaths away, the views of the caldera were stunning.

I had seem images online of Galia Lahav dresses and stared at the beauty so I sought out my nearest stockist, Tilly Trotters brides. As soon as I saw the G-104 gown on the hanger my heart sang – it was perfect. Tilly’s encouraged me to try a few on but both my Maid of Honour and I knew that the Galia dress shone above all of the others, it was exactly what I had dreamt of.

The wedding day itself felt like a dream. The ceremony took place on the rooftop of La Maltese Estate with Trevor Francis singing “The Blowers Daughter” as I walked down the aisle with my Dad. Nick and I had prepared our own vows which I was so glad we did as it gave me the chance to tell Nick exactly how I feel about him. After the ceremony our photographer Nicola Drummond took us off for some amazing photographs of the caldera, Nicola was amazing and made us feel so relaxed (especially as we are not usually the “photo type”). We returned to dance into our wedding reception with some traditional Greek dancers. The party continued into the night as we set off some standing fireworks during our first dance, a moment I will never forget, Nick’s deep squat to lift me up over his shoulders caused him to rip his trousers but that didn’t stop us dancing the night away.
