Bride Of The Week: Mya Noel

Bride Of The Week: Mya Noel

Written By Kaileah Searcy

Our GL Bride Of The Week is the gorgeous Mya Noel, who walked down the aisle in a customized Dean gown.

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?

That's a tough one because there are so many, but the first one that comes to mind would be when I first saw my husband on the day. We did our ‘first look’ on the waterfront and the moment felt so magical, almost like I was falling in love with him for the first time all over again.

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?

Don’t waste too much time dress-shopping online! I spent HOURS searching and had decided what I thought I wanted only to realise that it wasn’t the case at all. I would now say It’s impossible to pick a dress without knowing how you feel actually in it.

How did you know your dress was 'the one'?

It's hard to explain the feeling, but the instant I put on the dress, I knew. Somehow it just felt like the dress had been made just for me without me truly knowing what I wanted.

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?

I was so excited to get back into the dress. It was the first time I had worn it with my full hair and makeup so it was really special to see the vision come to life. I had been sure to only show my mum and sister the dress beforehand because they were the ones with me at the fitting so for my friends it was a complete surprise. They certainly had the reaction every girl hopes for; tears, joy the works.

What was your favorite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?

I was really excited to see the ceremony flowers and setup. I had spent a lot of time trying to create an intimate, delicate space that would be beautiful but not overwhelming for a smaller room. I couldn’t help but sneak in, in the morning for a quick peek but didn’t get to see the final touches until I was walking down the aisle and everything felt perfect.

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?

I met my husband at work. We are both professional dancers and after our industry had shut down due to Covid we were both looking for work and happened to end up from different sides of the world on the same job. We spent our first couple of months falling in love over FaceTime as we had to stay in quarantine. A virtual start to our story for sure.

He proposed to me by a lake in Switzerland. Just us two, there was no one else there, just how I had wanted it. We were both away from home at the time and he had flown all my family out to surprise me after the proposal. Once he popped the question we walked through a park, I turned a corner and there was my family, really one of the best days of my life.

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?

From start to finish my whole experience has been a dream. Not once did I feel an ounce of stress or worry. The girls in store were incredible and made me feel so comfortable. Not only are the dresses amazing but the team is too, for me there was no other option other then Galia.
