Sarina Milosevich Chern's Maui Wedding
Our GL Bride of the Week is the gorgeous Sarina, who married the love of her life in our Maya gown. She and her fiance celebrated their love with a destination wedding on the beautiful Hawaiian island of Maui. In today's interview, she shares with us her love story and how she become a GL Bride! As told of Sarina:
"Since I was going for a “black tie in paradise”, I felt this dress embodied it perfectly."
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
My husband and I met working at Nobu. I was the pastry chef, and he was the sous chef. My husband proposed during covid in our room. It was like Monica and Chandler in friends, candles everywhere, and a Thai picnic on the floor (one of our favorite days off dinners).
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
Working with the Galia Lahav team made my dress journey go forward with such ease. From start to finish, I felt so comfortable and knew that everything would be handled. Working with the team truly took a worry off me. The dress came in fitting perfectly after my measurements were taken, then I met with a seamstress there to finalize the size, so it fits like a glove. I really had a flawless experience.
"Don’t dwell on every little thing and enjoy the day with all your guests and husband."
How did you feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone’s reaction to the dress?
Since I got my dress during covid, my mom and sister were the only ones who could come to my fittings and who saw my dress before the wedding day. When I put my dress on, I felt my nerves calm and thought Wow “This is really happening”. During the commotion everyone got silent, they all went crazy over the dress. It was definitely a surreal moment.
A detail that made your wedding special/unique?
We chose to get married in Maui, Hawaii, an extraordinary place my family has gone on vacation forever, and my husband’s parents live. We got to celebrate a three-day event with our friends and families. On our first day, we welcomed our guests with a fiesta at the Grand Wailea. Our wedding day followed at Hotel Wailea. The day after, we celebrated a farewell dinner at my husband’s parent’s Chinese restaurant, China Boat, where my husband’s dad is the chef/owner, and his mom is the manager/owner.
