"Do whatever pleases you, it is supposed to be the best day ever that you and your partner can imagine."
A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?
The moment of my wedding day I will never forget is when I walked in and saw my Husband crying and then all the guests and myself joined in and everybody was bawling their eyes out. I expected it to be exactly like that but the experience of walking down the aisle accompanied by your father, seeing all your loved ones that you may not see on a regular basis, and seeing all the hard work and efforts coming to life and everything looking perfect - it was unbelievable and indescribable.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
My advice to future brides are things my mum told me: Do whatever pleases you, it is supposed to be the best day ever that you and your partner can imagine. Don’t involve too many opinions and stay true to yourself. But also what my great wedding planner told me: Don’t inspire yourself too much from Pinterest, because the more you see the more you like, the more you want and the more it gets expensive.
A detail that made your wedding special/unique?
The combination of all: The venue, the dress, and the Color palette. We had a violet/Lila-themed wedding, with really colorful violet flowers, candles, accents, and violet grapes and figs as table decorations, that guests started to snack and eat from.
How did you know your dress was 'the one'?
The Élysée dress was the first one that I saw online and the algorithm did its thing, and I saw the dress every day. When I saw that Galia Lahav had a Trunk Show in Zurich I had to go immediately. Normally I never have the chance to find exactly what I want to try on when in a store but the odds were in my favour. It was the first wedding dress that I tried and I felt the most comfortable and the most like myself. Also, I know what my husband likes and the Élysée complimented every detail of my body perfectly.
What was your favorite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
I think it was the decoration. I do care what people think so the first impression that my guests would have while entering the location was really the most important thing for me. So the decoration, flowers, and food were things that took a lot of our time, but it was also so beautiful to see everything that we had in mind come to life. We were mostly looking forward to the party when the nervousness of having all the eyes on us would start to fade and everybody would dance like no one was watching. With the great help of our wedding planner Lara, everything went so smoothly and she was the perfect fit for us! We can recommend everyone to have a wedding planner on their big wedding day and Lara was the best!

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?
It felt right, I didn’t want to take it off when the wedding was over…If I was a dress I would be Élysée by Galia Lahav. It made the perfect silhouette, see-through at the perfect places, and light and comfortable. Everybody was shocked and amazed at the same time when they saw me. And those who had seen it before were not surprised that I chose exactly this dress.
Would you have done anything differently?
A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one should not tell on things that did not go well. But if there’s one thing I would have done differently it’s invite fewer people because even with the number of guests I had (85 guests) it was impossible to spend time with each and
every one. Also, I would do the guest list upon my preferences and not how offended people would be if I left them out of the guest list. I was a bit of a people pleaser.
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
Our fathers were best friends, my brother and my husband were friends and working together. So we went to the same schools and had the same group of friends. I remember him picking me up from my dates, with his girlfriend on the passenger seat at the time. When I was 14 (so 14 years ago) I always told my friends that I would marry him one day but I would not actively do anything because I think it’s fate. Now 14 years later we’re married. I moved to Switzerland in 2017 while he was still living in Germany, we reconnected online in 2019 and he joined me in Switzerland in 2020. One year later we got engaged at our best friend's house where everything was decorated beautifully with nice food and a great cake. This happened after I accidentally discovered his plans to propose to me months prior and ruined the surprise with my noisiness.
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
I had the chance to try on the dress at Zoro Zurich when the Galia Lahav team was on site for the trunk show. We had a great time and they were really helpful and took the time to show me things they knew would fit me but I did not necessarily think to try them on. When I did try other dresses, it only made my decision harder. The reactions they had (Shelly & Danielle), were the reactions I expected from my guests. So I was pretty set on the dress. I did buy it at a later date at the Trunk Show at Bridal Boutique Baden while filming a TV Show which was also very fun.
How many dresses did you try on before you found it?
It was the first wedding dress I ever tried on and I was pretty set on it. Too many opinions led me to unnecessarily try on a lot of other dresses and I came back to my senses and to my favourite one.
