"Do not change who you are!! You don't need to lose weight, obsess over your skin."
A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?
Seeing my son and husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle. My son was an IVF miracle, and I remember it hitting me, WOW I'm getting married, and I'm a mom! It sounds silly, but seeing them both there made me burst with pride and happiness.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride?
You don't need to sweat the small stuff. I booked my wedding just before having a baby, and I only took 5 months away from my business. My spare time was limited and I didn't have as much time to plan the little details as I would have liked, and it was making me anxious. It didn't matter - Everything was just perfect. It didn't feel like anything was missing and I was so happy with everything we had chosen. I didn't need to overthink it!
A detail that made your wedding special/unique?
Our first dance song was an old school R&B vibe, but reworked by our acoustic singer. It was just perfect and the lyrics meant a lot to our family!
What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
The music! & dancing with friends. We were lucky enough for our saxophonist to be available for our day. She has an Ibiza-style vibe and everybody loved her! At this point there was nothing to be nervous about, and I could have a few drinks and let my hair down!
How did you meet your husband?
He messaged me on instagram! Honestly I wish I had a more interesting story as its slightly embarrassing. He already knew my best friend who had put a good word in for him.
How did he propose?
He had booked a weekend at The Four Seasons in Hampshire. He told me we should walk through the gardens to dinner as they light it up all pretty at night. I hadn't realised it was lit up just for me! There was lanterns everywhere. It hit me once our song started to play. Other than a staff member that was hiding taking photos, it was just us. It was a beautiful moment.
"People loved my dress and I received so many compliments. "
How did you know your dress was 'the one'?
I had seen it on the GL Instagram page, and I instantly fell in love. It was more beautiful that I could have dreamt. I actually bought it when I was pregnant with my son because I was so confident it was "The one" and had to wait 8 months before I tried it on. I loved her more than I thought I was going to!
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding?
This was the moment it all started to feel very real for me. I felt a rush of excitement, butterflies. I already did not want the day to end!
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
I went through Tilly Trotters in Leamington Spa who were incredible.
