Actress and model Wallis Day attended the amfAR Gala after the Cannes Film Festival, stunning in a custom Galia Lahav gown. The amfAR Gala, held at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, is not just a social event but also a significant fundraiser for AIDS research, often regarded as a rival to the Met Gala. “I went to Galia Lahav for the first time and picked three different dresses,” she admits. “A week later, I went back and chose a completely different one. I just fell in love with it.”
Harper’s Bazaar interviewed Wallis prior to her appearance on the red carpet, during which she discussed her passion for fashion and provided insights into the preparations involved in attending a significant fashion event.

In her interview with Harper’s Bazaar, ‘Secrets of the Stylish: Getting Cannes-ready with Wallis Day’ she says “The reason we chose the Galia Lahav dress is that I am obsessed with their embroidery and lace detailing – you can really see the attention to detail and the time and care into each one of their garments.” – she’s not wrong!
When asked by Harper’s Bazaar why what we wear matters, Wallis responded, “I think it’s important to have a creative outlet that reflects the freedom of your identity.” We believe Wallis’s choice of wearing the custom Galia Lahav gown to the amfAR gala certainly fulfills that purpose.
